About Us

Hi All! We are two friends of 25 years now, Tammy and Vanessa, on another one of our great adventures together; to create soap for those who desire a more natural approach to cleanse and moisturize their skin without drying it out.

We began in 2020, in our kitchens in Mid-Michigan, formulating, experimenting and learning to make simple soaps just to provide a more gentle soap for our family and friends. We quickly found how clean and soft our skin felt with our handmade soaps. Did you know that a big box bar of soap has around 45 different ingredients!! So we decided we needed to break free from massive production and all those chemicals. And bonus...we loved making them too so we just knew we had to spread the happiness and start our own small business.

So next we had to come up with a name for our soap business. Being Michiganders we love our lakes! Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes as well as thousands of inland lakes, hence our name; Lakeshore Soap Company. You can always find a beautiful lakeshore in Michigan. Which lead us to also come up with names for our bars that reflect our great state.

Our line of products include something for everyone, young to old and for men and woman. We have been fortunate enough to have our soaps in a Mid-Michigan store and they are in 2 gift shops in the Upper Penninsula. Also we can make custom orders for any occasion; baby showers, weddings, company events, birthdays and bridal showers. We also sell wholesale.

We offer a variety of unique soaps. We have worked hard and put lots of love into each one of our products. We love seeing our "regulars" at farmers markets and fairs and look forward to earning many more returning customers. We want our customers to love, enjoy and share our products. We offer peace of mind knowing our produts are hand crafted by the two of us and keeping it as local as possible. Michigan Made. American Made.

We often get told our soaps are too pretty to use. But we say "Life is to short to have to dust off soap" ....... so use our soap every single day because we are always making more!

We make small batches to ensure high-quality. Our handmade soaps are made with skin-loving ingredients to help your skin become its best.

And a reminder, we always test on our friends and our families but never any animals!
